The HTP series is designed to provide the benefits of a self-trimming wick posture with rigidity similar to that found in cored wicks. High-performance cotton fibers, along with other natural materials are engineered into a specially constructed braid, producing a more predictable wick posture. HTP wick is especially well-suited for tough-to-burn formulations with additives. It is also an excellent choice for paraffin wax, vegetable wax, and gel wax candle systems.
We carry this wick series in pre-waxed, cut, and tabbed assemblies to allow you to test a variety of 10 sizes included in our HTP Wick Sample Kit. Purchase your samples and create your perfect candle solution today!

The rate chart is provided by Atkins & Pearce merely as an additional tool to assist the customer in making an appropriate wick selection. This is only provided to serve as suggestions of wicks that may be appropriate based upon certain criteria and should not be relied upon as determinative or as a substitute for customer testing.
Many variables exist in candle wax types, additives, and formulations for individual candle systems. Final wick selection should always be confirmed through the customer's own testing process to determine if a particular wick is the correct choice for a particular candle system. Atkins & Pearce is not responsible for selections made by the customer using any of the reference material provided. For optimal burn performance in specific candle systems, we strongly recommend that customers conduct exhaustive burn tests in their own burn lab and consider retaining samples for their future internal reference. The importance of candle testing and data validation cannot be overstated.
As the customer, you and your company are responsible for appropriately testing all Atkins & Pearce wicks in your candle formulations and for making the final wick selection based upon meeting appropriate candle safety and burn standards. CD wicks and HTP wicks have coreless, cotton flat braids with a paper filament for added rigidity. HTP wicks reduce carbon buildup, and you can use these wicks for tealights, votives, pillars, tapers, and containers. CD wicks provide a consistent burning flame, though with a burn that is not as hot, and are used for votive, container, and pillar candles.
To find the right size wick, have a look at our HTP wick size guide. Alternatively, choose the correct wick size by burning candles with different wick sizes. An appropriate wick will:
To test your wick, it’s best to use three to five similar candles with different wick sizes. You want to burn them simultaneously and compare the results. You can also test various kinds of wicks to determine which works best with your candles. Each test should allow for a full melt pool to form.
HTP wicks consist of braided high-performance cotton fibers and contain paper filament throughout the braid.
